ABOUT US

Damas Latinas de San Diego is a non-profit organization founded in 1971 that has become, during more than four decades, a symbol of Charity and Social Works in this bi-national area. The main ideal of this small group is to pursue the common vision of its members of assisting underprivileged children to become useful members of society.

This international organization has no salaried positions and is formed by a few women who volunteer their time and valuable resources in a truly charitable manner. The proceeds from the events are donated to the projects at hand.

Their ongoing altruistic efforts encompass contacting individuals and businesses for sponsorships and monetary donations throughout the year; also, they seek contribution of goods or services for the silent auction and the opportunity drawing that take place during the night of their main event.

MISSION

Throughout the years, the group's objective has consisted mainly of starting or adopting projects that provide medical services, therapy and schooling for children and, at times, the construction and maintenance of child-care centers.

As needs arise, we evaluate and cooperate with other projects.

Our mission is truly charitable, with no salaried positions. During these forty- five years we have remained non-political, non-commercial, non-sectarian and non-discriminatory, dedicating ourselves to the joy of giving.

MAIN EVENT

We entertain our guests during a lively and elegant Anniversary Ball with music from a good band and offer them a delicious dinner. All of this while achieving our goals by receiving donations and holding a silent auction and drawing for wonderful prizes and services donated by our benefactors.

This year, Our guests can expect their invitations one month before the event.
